Veritable condo development in the County....

We picked up all the bits to build 3 more hives from Dancing Bee the other week.  This time around we opted for the bits to self-assemble the boxes, but bought the frames assembled (too fiddly to DIY).  Cath and her brother assembled them (yay for nail guns!) and picked out colours.

There were skids left over from the renovations so they were repurposed as bases for the hives.

Later in May (if spring ever happens) we'll get 3 nucs (bee starter colonies), and of the surviving hive from last year does well Cath plans to split that, which will make a total of 5 working hives.  That's the plan at least....
