Um...it might not be ready
When we checked the batches of mead today we saw that the larger 1 gallon batch (#2) was still bubbling away, but the smaller 2 liter mason jar batch had really slowed down (first batch).
We decided to give it a try. It was very sweet...like a mild syrup. A little fizzy and definitely a taste of raisin to it. Maybe just a hint of alcohol...but not really much of any kick.
We capped it back off and gave it a swirl and there was still a lot of activity. We figure that with the heat off the temperature dropped enough to slow everything down. We'll see how it goes over the next couple of day.
